SIGHT WORDS

We use a program called rainbow words which is a color coded list of high frequency words your students will need to learn.

READING LEVELS

We use a leveled reading system that uses the letters A-Z known as BAS to help you and your student understand their level and what is an appropriate level for their grade. This system helps us know whether your child is on track or if they may need some additional help.

KIDS A-Z

Kids A-Z is an online program that we use in the classroom and can also be used at home. In this online platform there are hundreds of leveled books that students can read or have the program read to them. Each student will have their own account which they can access by putting in MrsHarbaugh3 as their teacher.

STANDARDS AND CURRICULUM

We use common core standards as our guide for learning and grading. Our curriculum consists of Journeys for reading and Go math for our math curriculum.

KINDERGARTEN ROUND UP

Kindergarten Round Up takes place in April every year. Parents may register students who are turning 5 by September 1st in the Detour Area Schools Office. Please call the school for more information.
